Multi-Assistance Center at Morgan’s Wonderland Welcomes New Goodwill Ambassador – ‘Happy’

SAN ANTONIO – “Happy the MACapillar” has joined the Multi-Assistance Center at Morgan’s Wonderland, or The MAC, as its colorful new goodwill ambassador.

Located at 5210 Thousand Oaks in Northeast San Antonio, the unique, multi-story, 165,000-square-foot MAC houses more than 30 community-based organizations under one roof to help individuals with special needs find solutions to medical and non-medical problems without having to run all over town.

“The mission of costumed character Happy is to make impromptu appearances to brighten the outlooks of our clients – or MAC Members – when they visit service providers,” said Allan Castro, CEO of The MAC. “The inspiration for Happy is the caterpillar, which ultimately emerges from its cocoon as a beautiful butterfly that, despite its fragility, can soar to new heights and exceed expectations.”

Castro noted that Happy the MACapillar hails from the genus bringshappines nonstopus and loves to learn about science, math and social studies.

Happy joins a growing group of costumed goodwill ambassadors for Morgan’s Inclusion Initiative, the nonprofit organization that coordinates planning, fundraising and communications for world-renowned Morgan’s Wonderland theme park and other Ultra-Accessible™, fully-inclusive endeavors. These ventures bring together children and adults with and without special needs in uplifting, non-judgmental environments for interaction and a greater understanding of one another.

“Happy happens to be the little brother of butterfly goodwill ambassador Joy who greets guests and makes friends at Morgan’s Wonderland,” said Jana Grohman, The MAC’s chief operating officer. “By the way, Happy’s favorite color is purple, the color of inclusion.”
