As the former Mayor of San Antonio, the first Hispanic-American to lead a major U.S. city, he revitalized the city’s economy through major infrastructure and job-creation initiatives. Appointed by President Clinton as Secretary of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, Cisneros led national efforts to revitalize public housing and expand homeownership to record levels. He later served as President and COO of Univision Communications and has continued shaping communities through his leadership in housing, finance, and urban development.
